BRIEF: Meet Super Bowl star Trey Burton today in VeniceSarasota Herald-Tribune, Fla. — Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Fla.
Feb. 13--VENICE -- He's back today in Venice, the site of his first football stardom.
Super Bowl luminary Trey Burton is back in town to thank everyone from around the area who helped him become a champion.
The former Venice High School star, who threw a touchdown in the Philadelphia Eagles' Super Bowl LII victory over the New England Patriots, will be at Bogey's Restaurant & Sports, 652 East Venice Avenue, today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. as part of a post-Super Bowl celebration.
Kids 10 and younger eat free and Burton will have memorabilia to sign.
The 1-yard score Burton threw to Nick Foles was the first time in Super Bowl history a quarterback had caught a touchdown.
Burton also was a record standout for the Florida Gators: he once scored six touchdowns in a game against Kentucky, a Gator record that may never be broken.
