The Placer County Sheriff's Office announced that its search and rescue teams have launched their annual fundraising drive, and telephone solicitors will be calling county residents seeking donations. Money raised this year will be used to purchase mobile communications equipment for the Lake Tahoe area, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.
